Guru Ji and the Namdhari Sangat were warmly received by Haji Syed Salman Chishty, Gaddi Nashin of Dargah Ajmer Sharif and Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, together with members of the 800-year-old Khuddam-e-Khwaja community. Present to welcome the guests were Syed Aman Chishty, Syed Saeed Chishty, Syed Serhan Ali Chishty and Syed Ali Zaid Chishty. The Namdhari delegation included respected community elders Sardar Gurbhej Singh Guraya, Sardar Gurlal Singh and others. They joined the prayers at the sacred shrine and offered their reverence at the Astana-e-Aliya.

Haji Syed Salman Chishty conferred the Global Peace Award of the Chishty Foundation on Sadguru Shri Uday Singh Ji Maharaj. The award recognises his work for interfaith harmony, peace and unity, and the Namdhari community’s selfless service to society through its centres across India and around the world.

Guru Ji leads from Sri Bhaini Sahib in Punjab. The Namdhari tradition is known for its devotion, simplicity and service, and its institutions work in healthcare, education, agriculture and community welfare. The award also honours that tradition’s contribution to India’s spiritual and social life.

A Mehfil-e-Sama was presented by the Shahi Qawwals of Dargah Ajmer Sharif. Their kalaams in praise of the Divine and the Auliya-Allah with Panjabi Kalam in honour of Baba Shaikh Farid Ganj e Shakar(r), rooted in the Chishty tradition of spiritual music, moved the gathering. Guru Ji, the Namdhari Sangat and the Khuddam community listened together, showing how sacred music speaks across faiths.

Shabad and Sama, the devotional hymn of the Sikh and the qawwali of the Sufi, both lead the seeker towards the One. The gathering reflected that shared spirit.

Haji Syed Salman Chishty presented spiritual mementos (tabarruk) from the Dargah Sharif to Guru Ji, Mata Ji and all the members of the delegation. He expressed deep gratitude for the visit and offered special prayers (dua) for peace, unity and harmony across India and the world.

“The Dargah of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz has welcomed every seeker, of every faith, for more than eight centuries. Today’s visit by Sadguru Shri Uday Singh Ji Maharaj and the Namdhari Sangat is a living example of that timeless tradition,” said Haji Syed Salman Chishty. “The Sikh Gurus and the Sufi saints both taught the same truth: that God dwells in every heart, and that serving humanity is the highest worship. We are deeply grateful to Guru Ji for this blessed visit. Together we pray for peace, unity and harmony in our nation and across the world.”

He added that interfaith friendships of this kind are especially valuable today. When spiritual leaders of different traditions come together in love and respect, the message reaches every home and strengthens the social fabric of the country.

The visit carried forward the long tradition of friendship between the Sufi and Sikh paths in India. Both treat langar, seva, humility and remembrance of the Divine as central to spiritual life, and Dargah Ajmer Sharif remains a meeting point for seekers of all faiths.

The gathering closed with the eternal message of Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (R.A.):
“Love Towards All, Malice Towards None.”
