Earlier PM Modi has announced that India and US will co-host the Global Entrepreneur Summit (GES) 2017 and this American delegation will be led by Ivanka Trump daughter of US President Donald Trump. Ivanka Trump will be addressing around 1,000 entrepreneurs from across the globe at a three-day event to be held from November 28-30 in Hyderabad.

In a first of its kind participation, A month before the summit 18 madarsa students along with 300 youths will be participating in a day-long workshop on entrepreneurship on October 27.

Organized by US Consulate General in Hyderabad, Hyderabad-based Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) and the Hyderabad chapter of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), the workshop ‘Education to Entrepreneurship’ is part of the buildup to GES.

This is the first time that madrassa students will participate in a workshop on entrepreneurship and be guided by mentors from TiE, a global network of entrepreneurs founded in 1992. “When I heard that GES 2017 was being held in Hyderabad, I approached both US and Niti Aayog authorities with a plan for a workshop. Out of the 300 participants, 18 are madrassa students, who will get an opportunity to interact with business leaders,” said MANUU’s Chancellor Zafar Sareshwala.

Five best participants will be given a chance to intern with world class companies. Sareshwala, a businessman before the Modi government appointed him MANUU’s Chancellor, said it was wrong to say entrepreneurs are born. “Even madrassa students can transform ideas into businesses provided they are given right knowledge,” he said. Students, who have registered, are enthused.
