Vishwa Hindu Parishad to Conduct Padayatra from Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple
Mangaluru: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has announced a padayatra (foot march) scheduled for Sunday, aiming to offer prayers for the protection of Hindu religion and traditions. The procession will commence from Kadri Sri Manjunatha Temple in Mangaluru and conclude at the Koragajja shrine in Kuthar.
Event Details:
- Start Time & Location: The padayatra will begin at 6:00 AM from Kadri Temple.
- Conclusion & Program: A valedictory ceremony is planned at the Koragajja Shrine at 9:30 AM, featuring a talk by orator Chakravarty Sulibele.
- Participant Amenities: Transportation back from Kuthar and meals will be provided to all participants.
VHP’s Commitment:
Shivanand Mendon, the zonal joint secretary of the VHP, emphasized the organization’s dedication to preserving Hindu Sanatan religion and culture. He highlighted that the VHP has successfully organized similar padayatras over the past four years, aiming to unite Hindus and stand against any affronts to their faith.
Support for Nellidadi Guthu Jumadi Banta Daivasthana:
Sharan Pumpwell, VHP’s pranta sahakaryadarshi, expressed the organization’s support for an upcoming protest march on March 18. This demonstration, organized by devotees of the Nellidadi Guthu Jumadi Banta Daivasthana, urges the Mangalore Special Economic Zone (MSEZ) to permit religious rituals at the shrine. The shrine’s sacred open well holds significant importance, attracting devotees nationwide and internationally. The VHP calls upon both state and central governments to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of these religious practices.
