A STEP TOWARDS SPREADING SMILES : DPS Indirapuram organized a “Sharing is Caring Day”

The Nursery wing of Delhi Public School Indirapuram organized a “Sharing is Caring Day” for its Tiny Tots on 16th January, 2018. This was an initiative taken to sensitize the kids towards the acts of Giving and Sharing. To further the Noble Cause, a Donation drive was also organized as a part of the activity. The objective of this drive was to make the little ones empathize with the less fortunate and the needy, so that they grow up to be responsible citizens, upholding the torch of Universal Brotherhood.

The School Principal, Ms Meeta Rai, commended this initiative saying that it was a great step towards inculcating human values, giving the children an opportunity to share their blessings with others. Emphasizing that education in school should not be restricted to academics only, she spoke about the school’s constant effort to ensure holistic development of the students through such endeavors. Under the able guidance of the Pre-primary Headmistress Ms Rohini Duggal, the teachers of Nursery reached out to the parents, appealing ardently, how their efforts could bring a difference to the underprivileged and the needy. The children as well as their parents donated toys, books, old clothes and stationery generously. The collection was sorted and packed neatly and sent to “Goonj”, an NGO that works round the clock on various Social Projects and Campaigns.

During this activity the kids learnt some important lessons about compassion, empathy, the joy of giving generously and how small acts of benevolence could light up many faces with a SMILE.
