Real Ethos of the Story in Matasya Puran

Real Ethos of the Story in Matasya Puran

The MATASYA Puran presents a story that BHRAHASPATI Devataa, presented as the GURU of all Devatas graced to an assembly of all the Devtaas at the palace of Lord Indra. Finding the assemblage atypically quiet and subdued he inquired of Lord Indra what issues or problem was responsible for the absence of the usual conviviality, dancing and musical activities usually associated with assemblies at this location.

The cause turned out to be a fact that the Acharya of Demons (Rakshas) SHUKRACHAYRA had gained knowledge of the life giving formula/medicine SANJEEVANI which can even revive a dead person but our people have not. As this lack of knowledge could lead to a disastrous end for the Devtaas should a conflict take place it was imperative to obtain this knowledge applying every means possible.

After serious discussions, it was concluded that while extremely dangerous, the only viable option was for someone of the group too to go to SHUKRACHARYA and surreptitiously learn the ingredients and the formula.

Lord BHRIHASPATI’s son KACH volunteered to take the mission on and as there being no other offers he was selected.

Katch was captured when he reached SHUKRACHARYA’s kingdom and was presented before Shukrachayra. Learning on interrogation that young KACH’s objective was to serve him and gain as much knowledge from the sage as was possible. The Acharya permitted him to stay in his service.

One day SHUKRACHARYA’s daughter DEVYANI met KACH while he was walking in the “Palace Garden” and it was love at first sight for her. Kach and she became attached to each other.

Over time many other RAAKSHAS became increasingly perturbed by their relationship and finally decided to kill KACH, an objective they achieved successfully. Noticing Kach was absent from his usual service the Acharya enquired about him and learnt he had been murdered. Devyani requested her father to revive her.

Using SANJEEVANI Shukracharya brought him back to life. This cycle of murder and revival using Sanjeevani was repeated a number of times at the request of his daughter.

Not ones to quit, a group of Demons hatched a plot they believed would prevent his revival. Knowing of the Acharya’s fondness of alcohol, once again they captured and killed caught KACH, burnt him and mixed his ashes in the alcoholic drink the Acharya was served.

Noting KACH was absent, at his daughter’s request he enquired about KACH and became angry on learning that his colleagues had killed him, burnt his physical body and mixed the ashes in the alcohol which Shukaracharya had imbibed. He realized while he could revive KACH using SANJEEVANI, he himself would die when KACH came out of his stomach.

After profound consideration of options available he told KACH “you are in my stomach, I am going to give you the details of SANJEEVANI I will use to revive you, while you will come out alive, I will die, use the formula and process to save me.

SHUKRACHARYA
SHUKRACHARYA

SHUKRACHARYA used the SANJEEVANI & KACH came out & KACH applied the knowledge of SANJEEVANI to bring SHUKRACHARYA back to life.

Having acquired the knowledge he had come seeking, KACH expressed his intention to return to the Devlok but Devyani asked him to marry her. Replying that because her father was his Guru and guide which made her his sister; one he could not marry KACH returned to Devlok.

This an example of how, being well aware that not all students are equally interested in every bit of knowledge the Guru could impart, and that diligent students with comparable intellectual abilities would excel at different kinds of knowledge, Rishi of yore presented revealed knowledge in the form of stories to Identify diligent, intellectually capable students who followed up with questions. With them the Rishi would share the etymologic basis of the terms and school them in the science or other knowledge underpinning the story, but usually after identifying those students most likely to use the knowledge for peaceful purposes absent exigencies. That is why, of all the students who came to Rishi Vishwamitra, only Ram and to some extent Lakshman were imparted the knowledge of generating and using overwhelming destructive force, such as ATOMIC energy which is s very useful when produced as electric power or to power submarines and aircraft carriers, but its destructive power can and has been used to achieve submission of an implacable warrior race or to achieve peace when mutual destruction is assured by all parties to a potential war have a sufficient number of such weapons.

Currently, there is serious concern that such weapons may get into the hands of Fundamentalist Islamic terrorists. Setting aside all dire predictions let us examine the actuals results of the Nagasaki and Hiroshima nuclear bombing and the Chernobyl melt down.

Both Japanese cities are thriving metropolises within a couple of decades of the bombings and Chernobyl, judged to not recover for centuries is showing return to normality at a speed that suggests all calculations of nuclear explosions are fundamentally flawed and have been created to in still a fear effect. All the ‘expert’ opinions have been vitiated by facts on the ground.

Yes, a major nuclear conflict can result in serious destruction and even substantially prolonged recovery.

They have not considered the likelihood that less powerful, extremely precise and hyper speed nuclear missiles can destroy strategically important control and command systems and render offensive formations far less potent and susceptible to easier elimination without suffering prohibitive casualties.

Mao was actually correct is stating that in a nuclear conflict even if the United States directed every nuclear weapon in its possession, more than sufficient numbers of Chins would survive to take over the land of its adversaries.

Applying etymology which is as follows:

ETYMOLOGY:

1. DEVATAA – NIRUKTA- GIVE-DANA- DAANESHU
2. RAKSHAS – Demon (Normal) RA- DAANE, to give (Dhaatupath)
3. SHUKRACHARYA – Root Shukra = PRAANI BEEJAM = the Seed to Create, STAR ALSO
4. SANJEEVANI–(Sa is Prefix &Jaa/Jani), Pradurbhave to create Dhatupath Bhawadigan
5. KACH – BINDING Dhatupath Bhawadigan

We conclude a least one correct ethos (our limited research does not imbue us with the confidence it is the only ethos, as others may be able to support different etymologic basis for the same terms and offer additional interpretations) of this story is: follows:-

The Yaugika term ‘Devataas’ means powerful Energy giving centres, example being SURYA DEVATAA without which life itself would be likely unsustainable. We are as certain as others might be for life has been shown to be present in the deepest ocean where sunlight does not seem to penetrate, we also know that creatures such as was worms have been shown to possess the ability to break down plastic, and identifying their gut enzymes is merely a matter of time before we reduce or eliminate the devilish problem of plastic waste that has even entered our food chain and will lead to inimical health effect on a gargantuan scale.

RAKSHAS means entities which in and of themselves comprise of non productive mass/matter (such as the DARK PLANETS of which our world is one) but have the potential to generate or disseminate energy (Shukra).

Vedic cosmology teaches that inert energy in mass or primordial matter is activated to produce sow moving energy which progressively achieves acceleration in various parts and ultimately results in the cosmos with innumerable energy disseminating centers maintaining groups of planets in their respective elliptical cycles and mutual spatial relationships.

SANJEEVANI

Take an Example:-

1. An ATOM on its own can do nothing but by when it splits (Energized), its starts emitting useful or destructive energy.

2. Aanother example is of wheat (Mass/Matter) being placed in a grinding machine producing flour. The grinding machine provides the energy (Devta) which crushes the wheat to produce flour. Similarly, the term Rakshasrefers to mass energized by Devtaa.

3. In the human body, even if all the organs and fluids are there, it is only when the heart begins to contract and relax in an orderly rhythmic cycle blood does not circulate and the organism cannot live. He energized beating heart uses functioning valves to maintain correct directional bleed flow.

4. Take our Earth; It has the capacity to create growth, (Matter) example trees & Plants etc. but till the energy of the rays of the sun (SURYA DEVATAA) do not provide the heat and energy the seed cannot grow or produce leaves, flowers, fruits etc. So SANJEEVANI was the knowledge in all fields which helped in creation.
