Tata Sky launched Maa Ganga Initiative to Support Cancer Patients

India’s leading Direct to Home service provide Tata Sky has touched the nerves of its viewers by a campaign featuring Ganges. The Campaign Maa Ganga Project aimed to support Cancer patients of Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. Geeta Gopal has narrated a poem on Ganga with an appeal.

The Maa Ganga Campaign is started to support the cancer patients of TMC, Kolkata.

The Tata Medical Center (TMC), Kolkata is a philanthropic initiative from the house of Tata’s. Its mission is to promote prevention, early diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, palliation and research for cancer patients.  The hospital aims to be one of the leading Cancer Care and Research Institutions in the country benefiting West Bengal as well as  adjoining neighboring countries.
TMC, with a capacity of 167 beds (Phase 1) is geared to serve all sections of the society, with almost 50% earmarked for subsidized treatment of underprivileged sections.
Driven by the ethos to make the cancer patients feel at home, an accommodation facility is built on one acre of land donated by the Tata Group, just 500 meters away from the Tata Medical Center, Kolkata. This facility called Premashraya, Home Away from Home was inaugurated on 3rd July, 2015.
It provides subsidized accommodation to patients and their support coming from outside the city.
