  • NTT DATA donates funds towards purchase of learning aids

10 April 2019, Coimbatore: NTT DATA donated funds for the purchase of learning aids, sports equipment, art and craft items and science lab items to Isha Vidhya Rural Schools in the districts of Coimbatore and Tuticorin. The items were purchased and distributed at the Isha Vidhya Matriculation Higher Secondary School at Sandhegoundenpalayam village, Coimbatore, on 9 April 2019 in readiness for the coming school year.

NTT DATA (previously known as Dell) has been supporting Isha Vidhya for the past 5 years as part of its philosophy of promoting quality education in rural India. The organization has also sponsored a classroom at Isha Vidhya, Coimbatore.

Isha Vidhya

Isha Vidhya, an Isha Education initiative of Isha Foundation, is committed to raise the level of education and literacy in rural India and help disadvantaged children realize their full potential. The project seeks to ensure quality education for children in rural areas in order to create equal opportunities for all to participate in and benefit from India’s economic growth. Isha Vidhya currently operates 9 rural schools and supports over 500 government schools in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Committed to promoting education for girl children, Isha Vidhya’s efforts have seen increased enrolment of girl students in all Isha Vidhya schools. Over 60% of students in Isha Vidhya are on full scholarship; the rest are on a heavily subsidized fee structure.

Isha Foundation

Isha Foundation, founded by Sadhguru, is a volunteer-run, international non-profit, human service organisation dedicated to cultivating human potential. Isha Foundation is operated by over 9 million volunteers from more than 250 city-based centers spread worldwide. The Foundation is headquartered at Isha Yoga Center, set at the base of the Velliangiri Mountains in southern India, and at the Isha Institute of Inner Sciences on the spectacular Cumberland Plateau in middle Tennessee, USA.
