Spiritual Leader Awarded

Tibet, June 28; The Spiritual Leader Gyalwang Drukpa, the head of the Drukpa school of Tibetan Buddhism, was awarded an honorary fellowship by the University of Oxford’s Wolfson College recently.
Citation for the award says  “in recognition of his tireless commitment to cultural preservation in the Himalayas.”
The college also had previously established a scholarship in the name of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa Scholarship. The Drukpa Lineage is the state religion of Bhutan. The Gyalwang Drukpa works to support education and environmentalism in the Himalayas, in particular through his NGO, Live to Love International.
