Planed time slot Darshan to nearly 40,000 pilgrims every day in Tirupati

Tirumala, 18 July 2017: Describing the new Divya Darshan token system which was commenced by TTD on July 17, to avoid long waiting hours by the pedestrian pilgrims as a huge hit, Tirumala JEO Sri KS Sreenivasa Raju informed that over 19663 pilgrims had darshan on the first day on Monday.

After review meeting with senior officers of TTD at Tirumala in Annamaiah Bhavan on Tuesday, the JEO later talking to media persons, said the Time Slot system introduced for foot parth route pilgrims on the lines of Rs.300 special entry darshan, amassed positive response from the pilgrims who trekked all the way to Tirumala along Alipiri and Srivari Mettu routes. “As we assured, we have issued 14thousand tokens in Alipiri and 6000 tokens in Srivari Mettu routes on July 17 and 19663 pilgrims had darshan of Lord Venkateswara within two hours of reporting on Day one”, he affirmed.

Adding further the JEO said, “Except for some important days where unprecedented pilgrim crowd is anticipated including annual brahmotsavams, Vaikuntha Ekadasi, Dwadasi, peak summer days etc. during rest of the days 20 thousand Divya Darshan tokens will be issued every day including week ends. Today we are providing darshan with time slots to nearly 40thousand pilgrims which includes Rs.300 and Footpath every day. We are now contemplating to ensure time slot darshan to Sarva Darshan pilgrims also”, he added.

Following the directives of TTD EO Sri Anil Kumar Singhal, the quota for aged and physically challenged pilgrims has been increased on specified dates on July 18 and 25 from the existing 1500 in two slots to 4000 in three slots during these two days. Similarly on July 19 and 26, parents with infants below five years of age will be allowed for darshan through supatham entry point from 9am to 1:30pm”, he maintained.

Elaborating on the new room allotment system at CRO, the JEO said, pilgrims are expressing immense pleasure over the new procedure of room allotment through token system. “On first day on July 12 about 1809 pilgrims were allotted rooms through SMS system, July 13 about 2000, July 14 over 2300 and nearly 2500 July 15. On Sunday on July 16, nearly 2800 rooms were allotted to the pilgrims without any inconvenience while on Monday around 2600 rooms were allotted to pilgrims. The aim of management is to provide the best possible and transparent services to scores of pilgrims who are thronging the temple town of Tirumala for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara”, he asserted.

Earlier in the review meeting, the JEO discussed with the concerned HoDs over various development activities which are under progress.

Additional FACAO Sri Balaji, DyEOs Sri Kodanda Rama Rao, Sri Venugopal, Sri Sreedhar, SE II Sri Ramachandra Reddy, GM Sri Sesha Reddy, other reception and vigilance officers were also present.
