Meditation – Some Hidden Benefits

Meditation – Some Hidden Benefits

Meditation is highly regarded and prescribed by Sanatan Dharma and Buddhism in particular for a variety of reasons.

While it’s widely recognized and experienced as a wonderful way to still the mind it has an amazing effect on human beings. Most remain unaware or barely aware because they have not worked enough on the art of observation. Observing the body, energy and mind leads to a deep understanding of how they respond to different situations, activities and states.

Outlined below are some of meditation’s amazing effects. It’s not an exhaustive list but merely draws attention to some of those things that are not widely known or spoken about:

1. As one goes deeper into meditation, one’s breath becomes more and more relaxed. Numerous ‘clasps’ inside the body loosen their grip so the breath flows to parts of the body that may not have have been experienced before, especially in the waking/conscious state.

‘Flowing to parts of the body…’ may sound counterintuitive because of mental conditioning and what one may have been taught but when it becomes part of the experience, this conditioning does not matter. At least, it does not matter to those who put greater store on their own experience than what they may have been taught or is commonly known.

When the body reaches a deep state of relaxation and the breath flows to parts of the body, energy begins to flow unhindered. As the energy flows freely it begins to reach and touch those places and things that may have been deprived earlier. The effect of this is incredible and magical. It’s magical because of what it does to one’s health and abilities.

2. As one begins to read one’s body and becomes acquainted with its subtleties, one can learn to channelize the energy to different parts of the body. One’s emotions are tied to different organs in the body as has been widely acknowledged thanks to writers like Louise Hay and her amazing books.

As one perfects his energy system, he can begin to take control over his mind so effectively that he truly begins to become its master.

With gradual and increasing mastery over one’s mind, comes a great sense of confidence, a confidence unlike what is achieved with worldly success.

3. Meditation prepares the ground of the body and the being to be ready for sowing and growing whatever one chooses to focus on.

As health, energy and mind become aligned, one is ready to take the great leap…where one lands depends on where one wishes to land.
