The Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind formally inaugurated the Sadhu Vaswani International School, Pradhikaran. An AV on the school was played and greeted with appreciation and resounding applauses.

The announcer then welcomed Rev. Dada to take to the podium. His speech was both brief and insightful.

Speaking on the Hon’ble President, Rev. Dada said, “Our President is a man with a rich creative mind, a compassionate heart who loves the little ones. He knows it is the little ones of today who will build a new, a better, and a more awakened India of tomorrow. I feel deeply grateful to him that he has honoured this occasion by his presence.”

Continuing with his talk, Rev. Dada spoke of the idea of true education. “As I have moved from place to place, traveled country to country, it has seemed to me that the one urgent need of India and the nations is a new type of education. It is education that can mould a man. The type of education that we are giving to students in schools and colleges is all in words; it does not transform the life of students. We need this new type of education which will touch the life of the student. It is life that is needed. Science is marching on but the problems of India and nations will not be solved unless we have illumined hearts. The students need to be taught that life is larger than livelihood.” Instead of sending convicts of crimes to prisons, send them to special schools to be transformed, he added.

“I believe, five things are important for true education. I call them the five fingers of true education- character building, seva- service of the poor and the broken ones, love for the Indian ideals, reverence for all life and cultivation of the soul,” he added.

Further he spoke of the divine destiny education is meant to fulfil and shared a few words of wisdom. “Turn back to God. Love God, love your fellow beings. In love is the secret of peace which men and nations alike are seeking.”

Concluding his address, he yet again reminded saying, “Collapse of education is the collapse of a nation.” A thundering applause followed the address.

Union HRD Minister, Prakash Javadekar, spoke of his 50 year-long relationship with the Sadhu Vaswani Mission “Dada’s talks are so fresh and new that each time there is something to ponder upon. As a disciple, I assure that we shall module the education system as per his guidelines. The Government is already working on it and has decided to give a holistic approach to the entire educational system. We need to remember that the brain is not a data bank. True education is that which amalgamates abilities of comprehension, communication and analysis. Life-skill, creative skills, physical education, experiential education is what is important.”

L.K. Advani, former Deputy Prime Minister making a quick address said, “I am always here to receive and imbibe. This place is such. Dada’s darshan has made the day special.”

Finally, the Hon’ble President was requested to share his insights. “I am very happy to be here at the formal inauguration. The school draws from a great legacy. Sadhu Vaswani, the iconic spiritual leader, was one among the remarkable nation-builders. He taught us to combine the values of ancient civilisation with techniques of the modern age. His mission has been taken forward by the much-respected Dada J. P. Vaswani.”

“I had the pleasure of meeting him in 2016 in Mumbai when I was the Governor of Bihar. It was immediately clear to me that he has an impressive personality and is a great thinker. He celebrates his 100th birthday this August and now it is 79 years since he renounced worldly-attachments at the young age of 21.”

“He has been an ambassador of Indian tradition and culture on countless platforms within the country and abroad including the United Nations.”

The Hon’ble President also spoke on how the school was doubly-blessed since it was housed in the hub of education in India wherein great thinkers, leaders and educationists began educational institutes and how the legacy continues.

He concluded with words of blessings and wishing success for the Sadhu Vaswani International School, Pradhikaran.

The event concluded with the National Anthem.
