Annual Pune Rath Yatra on commemoration of the 139th birth anniversary of Sadhu Vaswani

Pune’s annual Rath Yatra is being held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 5pm.

The Rath Yatra is being organized in commemoration of the 139th birth anniversary of Sadhu Vaswani, the founder of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission.

 The Rath, a representation of Peace, resembles a space-ship like craft. The vehicle will also carry a life-like statue of Sadhu Vaswani. Since 1966, it has been taken through the city of Pune. It trails through the streets of Camp covering a stretch of over 5 kms. Thousands participate in this annual three and half-hour walk.

The Rath Yatra starts with a prayer ceremony.

Starting at Sadhu Vaswani’s  Sacred Samadhi at the Sadhu Vaswani Mission, the Rath Yatra will go to Sadhu Vaswani Chowk and then follow the route: Council Hall (right from signal) – Poona Club (straight from Hotel Blue Nile Signal) – Hotel Sagar plaza – Dorabjee (right from signal) – Hotel supriya – Rahim Petrol Pump – Cycle Society – Quarter Gate – Irwin Road – Padumjee Gate Police Chowky – Padumjee Compound – Nishat talkies – Agarwal Colony – Babajan Chowk – R.S. Kedari road – Bhopala Chowk – Mahatma Gandhi road – Aurora Towers – Dorabjee – Nehru Memorial Hall – Sadhu Vaswani Kunj – Shanti Kunj – Prem Kutir  and will end back at the Sacred Samadhi (at around 8.30 pm).

Being a symbol of World Peace, the Rath Yatra is made unique by the participation of religious organizations and communities.
