All Roads Lead to Ayodhya

ON August 5, is a historic day for all the Hindu devotees as it would mark the start of the construction of Ram Mandir at the birth place of Lord Rama in Ayodhya. After a century long controversy about the land of Ram Janmabhoomi and Babri Masjid, finally the Supreme Court on last November gave the verdict in favour of construction of Lord Ram temple while the Muslims were allotted five acre land near Ayodhya for building another mosque.

As the bhoomi pujan ceremony unfolds at Ayodhya tomorrow, the city is gearing up for the biggest and most awaited event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be laying the first of the five silver bricks which be set inside the sanctum sanctorum during the ‘bhoomi pujan’ ceremony.

The five bricks are believed to symbolise the five planets as per the Hindu mythology. The design and the architecture of the temple is the same as the one proposed by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) — the design will follow Vishnu temple’s Nagara style while the ‘garbha griha’ will be octagonal.

Salil Singhal, the nephew of late VHP leader Ashok Singhal, will be the “yajmaan” (ritual patron) at the ceremony. Hindu seers from Nepal have also been invited as Janakpur has relations with Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Ayodhya.

The state government will release a postal stamp, which is based on the temple design. The prime minister will plant a ‘parijat’ (coral jasmine) tree in the premises. The ceremony will go on till 2 pm. An inscription of the temple will also be inaugurated.

Around 175 eminent guests have been invited for the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, said Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra general secretary. The invitation list has been prepared only after “personally discussing” with BJP veterans L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi, lawyer K Parasaran and other dignitaries.

Trust’s general secretary Champat Rai 175 eminent guests, including 135 seers belonging to as many spiritual traditions, would be present at the programme, adding that some eminent citizens of the temple town have also been invited.

With security arrangements in place, the stage is almost set for Ram Mandir Bhoomi Pujan at Ayodhya on August 5. Part of the ritual, over 12 priests on Monday conducted prayers dedicated to Lord Ganesh. This was followed by prayers to the deities of the dynasties of Lord Ram and goddess Sita.

Preparations for the grand event is in full swing as Ayodhya us beautifully decorated for the ceremony. PM Modi is all set to lay foundation stone of Ram mandir tomorrow. Besides the PM, the historic event will also be attended by several BJP Chief Ministers, saints and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Only five people will share the stage during the ground-breaking day including Modi, Bhagwat, UP Governor Anandiben Patel, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and Mahant Nritya Gopaldas.  The mandir will be 161 feet in height and its construction is expected to be completed by three and half years.

The prayers and the ceremony are to start on the morning of Tuesday with the worship of Lord Human’s mark in Ayodhya. With ground-breaking ceremony all set to culminate on August 5, the entire town has been decked up with the posters of BJP leaders and saffron flags.

Preparations for Deepotsav are going on and Ghats of holy Sarayu River are beautifully decorated. The city is all set to witness the historic Bhoomi Poojan ceremony tomorrow. Prime Minister will first have Darshan at Shri Hanumangarhi Mandir tomorrow after which he will perform Pooja of Bhagwan Ramlalla at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi.

The Delhi BJP has made a grand plan on August 5 to make the occasion memorable. Lighting of 11 lakh earthen lamps, a mega laser show, and live telecast of the groundbreaking ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya through LED screens across the city are some of the events that the Delhi BJP will be doing on the day.
