A Gesture of Friendship from Israel

The Holy month of Ramadan has come to an end with the Eid –Ul-fitr but the festivieties are still continuing across the world. Especially in South India where many firsts have taken place, be it the Udipi Sri Krishna Mutt hosting a Iftar or Israel Counsulate holding one for the first time – Friendship from Israel.
The Israeli Consulate in Bengaluru hosted a Iftar for the Muslim community in the city for the first time. In a gesture of friendship, the party was hosted by Consul General Yael Hashavit and the Indian Economic Trade Organization. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, chief Imam, All India Organization of Imams of Mosques, was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion Counsul General said that Jews and Muslims have a lot in common and shared values. Israel has over one million Muslims living in peace and playing vital role in the development of the country. He also said that people from both countries should visit each other to clear the misconceptions. He wished that Pm Modi’s upcoming visit to the Israel will build a stronger ties between the two countries – Friendship from Israel.
