Know My Religion : Indian Pluralism Foundation Initiative

Know My Religion : Indian Pluralism Foundation Initiative

Indian Pluralism Foundation is organizing a series of interactive, interfaith Interyouth dialogue session supported by the British Deputy High Commission Kolkata

The series of Interfaith Dialogue will span across 8 weeks. ( Every Saturday, for 2 Hours )

Every session will be held at a respected religious institution and led by a religious representative who will engage in an interactive session with the youths. (Temple, Mosque, Church, Gurdwara, Monastery and Synagogue.)

Youths from the age group of 18 – 35 years across every faith background and caste are cordially invited to participate in this series of the interactive interfaith session where we will explore :

. Inculcating appreciative knowledge of religious & cultural traditions.

. Building Relationships across different backgrounds.

. Demonstrate ability to identify shared values between yourself and someone of a different religious or ethical background.

Interfaith language, like any other language, includes both speaking and understanding. A more mindful language is just one of many tools to make this possible.

As we engage in interfaith conversation of “Know My Religion” we will not only explore religious avenues only but journey into interfaith conversation is like a journey around the world.

Instantly we are connected with diverse cultures, customs and concepts. Such language expresses our common humanity, promotes civility and builds relationships of mutual respect and trust. Such language pursues peac & the plurality of religious traditions and cultures.

Pluralism is not diversity alone, but the energetic engagement with diversity.

Today, religious diversity is a given, but pluralism is not a given; it is an achievement. Mere diversity without real encounter and relationship will yield increasing tensions in our societies.

We wholeheartedly invite everyone to please participate in this initiative.

Participants will receive certificates from the British Deputy High Commission Kolkata upon successful completion of the Interfaith Interactive sessions where the youths will have to share their interfaith experience through creative presentation ( Participants are encouraged to give Verbal, Artistic, Musical or Poetic expression of their understanding about their interfaith experience on the final day of International Day of Peace 21st September 2019).
