The 101st Birthday of Rev. Dada J. P. Vaswani is to be rung in amidst sevas, kirtans, bhajans and recorded talks by the Great Masters— Rev. Dada and Gurudev Sadhu Vaswani.

The celebrations will begin on the 27th July with Dada Mela — a free fun-fair arranged for underprivileged children.

On 28th of July 2019, Akhand Maha Mantra Yagna —will be inaugurated that will run continuously for 101 hours, round-the-clock. It will end on 1st August. Speaking at the Press Conference, Didi Krishna Kumari said, “Dada always said that group chanting plays a powerful role. In faith and belief in this teaching, there will be a non-stop chanting of the Maha Mantra. We will be having a prayerful observation of Rev. Dada’s birthday.”

Rev. Dada was a strong advocate of forgiveness. He often said, “Forgiveness brings peace and joy into our life. Forgiveness puts an end to the inner struggle that rages in the soul within, and teaches us to face life with tolerance, understanding and equanimity. It conveys love and positivity. It eradicates all negativity, hurt, anger, grudges and rancor in the heart. It promotes health and peace. Peace is synonymous with God, so we are placing God in our hearts when we practice forgiveness.” In reverence and profoundness of this teaching of Rev. Dada, the Sadhu Vaswani Mission launched the Moment of Calm- a Global Forgiveness Moment in 2012 that entreats one and all to come together at 2 pm on 2nd August and forgive all the hurt, resentment, grudges and guilt and experience a serene wave of peace within. Observing the Moment of Calm marks one of the celebration programmes. Schools, colleges, hospitals, sports academies, NGO’s are supporting the cause. Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley and CCARE of Stanford University are also supporting the cause of Moment of Calm.

Book launch will be held of an authorized biography on Rev. Dada, ‘A Messenger of Love’ published by Pan Macmillan India and ‘100 love stories that will touch your heart’ published by Gita Publishing House. Mrs. Prabha Sampath, former dean of the St. Mira’s College and co-author of the book, ‘A Messenger of Love’, said, “These books are just a small way, to share with the world what Dada was. Words may never truly do justice.”

The event will also see the launch of a CD of songs written by Gurudev Sadhu Vaswani and Rev. Dada J. P. Vaswani and sung by Suresh Wadkar, Shankar Mahadevan, Meeta Shah and Sanjeev Abhyankar.
