Temple in Tamil Nadu celebrates Independence day, in a unique way

As the nation is gearing up to celebrate 70th Independence Day, a temple in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, found a unique way to celebrate the Day with a humongous amount of vegetables.

Around 5,000 kg of various vegetables are being used to decorate the interior and exterior of the temple. It’s not just the temple that is being decorated but all the gods and goddesses in the temple are dressed up with vegetables. Even their usual ornaments are made out of greens. An Idol of Bharath Mata welcomes the devotees at the entrance adorned in a dress made out of different greens. Her ornaments are nothing, but vegetables.

Amidst all the negative talk about the temple using so many vegetables and 5000 kg of them going waste, the temple authorities are happy that they are celebrating such an important milestone for the country.
