Sai Trust’s social initiatives lauded by Union Minister

Puttaparthi celebrated Guru Poornima with lot of reverence to Sai Baba. Thousands have thronged the temple town to pay their Guru Vandana on the auspicious day.

As part of the Guru Poornima Celebrations, Union Minister for Information Technology and Law, Ravi Shankar Prasad and State Endowments Minister Manikyala Rao inaugurated the Sri Satya Sai Nitya Anna Seva, a project initiative providing wholesome South Indian Meals for devotees visiting Prasanthi Nilayam at Purraparthi.

Speaking on the occasion Minister has lauded the social initiatives being taken up by the Sri Satya Sai Central Trust and appreciated the work of the volunteers in Trust.

Earlier in the day, the proceedings for the morning commenced at 8 a.m. with a short stint of Rudram chanting, followed by a session by the percussionists from Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. ‘Guru Vandana,’ a bouquet of songs by the students of SSSIHL streamed through the next 45 minutes, with interludes of commentary brought forth the theme of the celebrations – Adoration Of The SadhGuru.

An award ceremony, magazine release and a soul-stirring Carnatic Instrumental marked the Holy Guru Purnima evening  at Prasanthi Nilayam.
