Gautama Buddha, known simply as the Buddha, was an ascetic and sage, on whose teachings Buddhism was founded. Let us look at 21 interesting facts about Him on this Buddha Purnima.

1. He is believed by Buddhists to be an enlightened teacher who attained full Buddhahood and shared his insights to help sentient beings end rebirth and suffering.
